Grapes - New crop grapes out, of California's Central Valley are off to a slow start. Last weeks heat wave continues to affect supplies, specifically on green seedless. Lighter then usual volume and steady demand has stabilized the markets on red and green seedless. Good quality, size, and flavor are available on all varieties. Currently Flames, Superiors, Thompsons, Princess, and Summer Royals are available. There is a three tiered pricing structure based on medium, large, and extra large sizing. Flame red seedless volume will increase this week with peak harvest occurring during the next seventeen days. Volume on Superior green seedless has peaked this week. Thompson and Princess varieties will start this week. The following black seedless varieties are available; Summer Royal, Midnight, and Fantasy. Good volume on black seedless, specifically Summer Royals, are available with excellent quality, sizing, and pricing. Red Globes will start this week, although volume will be limited later in the week. There are still a few Mexican Red Globes available.
